The Vision

Adam and Soni wanted to create their dream home for their family, their focus was to capitalise on the elevated location of the block to take in the beautiful South Coast Ocean views and the leafy escarpment. Adam and Soni like to entertain so having an oversized alfresco dining area with outdoor kitchen and pizza oven overlooking the large inground concrete pool was very important.

Being so tightly tucked into the escarpment Adam and Soni know the winters can be cold so thermal mass and having a solar passive home was also an important factor.

The Problem

Being so tightly tucked into the escarpment meant the block was classified as a BAL40 bushfire category, this meant careful consideration to the exterior finishes had to be considered.

The block also has a natural spring running through the site, the engineering for the grand home was very complexed to make sure the house is socketed into the mountain.

The Process

They had their home designed by a local architect; the large home spans over three full floors with all three levels having masonry external walls, the lower level is cut into the earth and is naturally insulated, two levels of the home having heated polished concrete floors with large, double-glazed windows and skylights to capture the suns heat and natural light through the home.

The house also being complete with an extensive solar system with battery storage makes this house truly energy efficient.

We are excited to complete this project for Adam and Soni and their kids and look forward to showcasing the final completion pictures very soon.
