Warilla Beach House
The Vision
Corey and Terri wanted to create a family home that reminded them of the family holidays they use to take down the south coast of NSW when they were younger, their design brief was a 50s-60s era beach shack which with a modern touch that would allow their family to grow into as their Kids got older. Corey & Terri also loved to entertain, so to have an indoor-outdoor area that was connected to the kitchen and swimming pool was important. They also loved retro and experimented with some subtle touches that was a small nod to the past.
The Problem
They had built before and had a bad experience with their previous builder not communicating with them throughout the build which resulted into a cost blow outs, and not getting exactly what they wanted in the end. We could sense both Terri and Corey has reservations and were both nervous going into this build. during the design phase we really got to understood there needs, wants and desires and we then demonstrated how CKS Projects can deliver on this and how our projects are managed by keeping the client up to date and well informed with our online client portal.
The Process
They had their house originally designed by a draftsmen they had engaged themselves, Keiron and Corey already knew each other as they lived in the same community, they approached Keiron and asked if he would be interested in looking at their build, once we had our first meeting with Corey & Terri to discuss their dreams, from the outset we identified issues with the design they had and we approached them about putting it through our designer to improve the layout to match their requirements. This was well received and we redesigned and put it through council.
During the build, Corey and Terri were updated weekly on progress, images, scheduling, forecast of works, selections and any changes through our online Client Portal, we also hosted fortnightly meetings onsite, they loved transparency of the build and felt a part of the build every step of the way.
The Result
Corey, Terri and their two children are thrilled with their new family home, its exactly how they imagined it, they love the indoor- outdoor entertaining areas and the kids love the swimming pool, the home has lots of natural light and has enough space for them all to have their own sanctuary when needed and their proximity to the beach has made their family dreams come true, we truly enjoyed delivering this project to Corey & Terri and their two kids and look forward to seeing them grow into their new family home.
