4 Elanora Coledale

Connecting Architecture with Nature

Perched on a steep escarpment site overlooking the ocean, Elanora Four is a thoughtful renovation that demonstrates the power of collaboration between designer and builder.

Designed by Alex Urena Design Studio and delivered by CKS Projects, the vision was to transform an ageing coastal home into a refined contemporary residence that celebrates proportion, light and its connection to the surrounding landscape.

Relaxed, contemporary living

The project included a complete interior refurbishment, an expanded rear living area and balcony, a new timber-clad garage, and a carefully considered arrival experience linking the street to the home below. Inspired by the concept of rhythm, the rear elevation is composed through balanced proportions and paired timber posts that create a calm architectural cadence while framing expansive bushland and ocean views.

Comfort, Functionality, and Craftsmanship in One

Building on the Illawarra escarpment presented its own challenges, requiring careful planning, structural expertise and close collaboration to navigate the site's steep topography. From the elevated garage and timber walkway to the finely crafted detailing throughout, every element was designed to work with the landscape rather than against it.

A Home Defined by Light, Warmth & Connection

The result is a home that feels contemporary, understated and deeply connected to Coledale. It’s a project that reflects CKS Projects' commitment to bringing exceptional architectural design to life through craftsmanship, precision and genuine collaboration.
